CyberPeace initiates fight against spread of misinformation through cycling initiative

(Isstories Editorial):- Ranchi, Jharkhand Feb 25, 2024 (Issuewire.com) – With the aim to spread awareness against misinformation, CyberPeace, along with the Bicycle Mayor of Ranchi with support from our title sponsor Canara Bank organised the annually held cycling event named “CyberPeace Ranchi Cyclothon 2024” on Sunday, 25th February 2024.

In addition to the existing partnerships, CyberPeace collaborated with Big FM Ranchi as the official radio partner and Medanta as the medical partner for the “CyberPeace Ranchi Cyclothon 2024.” Additionally, we were honored to have HIVE and PR Modi as our co-sponsors. These partnerships further reinforced the event’s commitment to community engagement and well-being.

Present as Chief Guest on the occasion, Ranchi Lok Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Seth addressing concerns about cybercrime in Jharkhand, emphasized the need to change the perception of the state as a hub for such activities. Shri Seth highlighted Jamtara’s status as one of the most affected areas globally, acknowledging the gravity of the situation in Jharkhand. Additionally, he stressed the importance of preventing misinformation and deepfake occurrences, advocating for safer cyberspace through awareness and verification of information authenticity.

Founder and Global President of CyberPeace Major Vineet Kumar in his address to the media, expressed gratitude to MP Shri Sanjay Seth for attending the event and emphasized the importance of tackling cybercrime in Jharkhand. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the state, particularly in Jamtara, and highlighted the need to provide opportunities for youth to channel their skills positively.

Major Vineet also addressed the issue of misinformation and deepfakes, advocating for a proactive approach to cybersecurity. He emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing it, especially in the era of AI-generated content. Additionally, Major Vineet raised awareness about the impact of excessive screen time on digital health, urging individuals to use the internet in a balanced and beneficial manner.

With the abundance of information present at the click of our fingers, the spread of misinformation is rampant. With the goal to combine the spirit of community engagement, CyberPeace is on a mission to promote “Technology for good” beyond borders.

Keeping this in mind, CyberPeaces aim behind this Cyber revolution is to work on making people realise the dangers of misinformation and helping them understand the importance of fact checks before sharing anything online.

A total of 120 participants attended the CyberPeace Ranchi Cyclothon 2024 with fervour under three categories including 25KmonMTBorHybridBicycle, 50KmonMTBorHybridBicycle, and 50Kmon Road Bicycle.

The route for both 25 KM and 50 KM riders began from the State Guest House, Morabadi Ground, Ranchi, then passed through Premsons Motors, Kanke Road, Law College, Bukru. The U Turn Point for the 25 KM riders was here aer which they returned via the same route to Morabadi via Premsons Motors. From here the route continued through the State Guest House, Red Cross, Bapu Vatika, and Vrindavan Banquet.

On the other hand, in the case of 50 KM riders, the route is similar but extends further through Pithoria Chowk, Jora Bridge, Valley U Turn Point, and returns via the same route.

In the 50 KM Road Bike category, Sutatwa emerged as the winner among males, followed by Avneet Singh Babrah as the 1st runner-up and Dula Hansdah, also known as Sahil, as the 2nd runner-up.

For the 50 KM MTB/Hybrid category, Partha Pratim Debnath claimed victory among males, while Vandana Khemka took the top spot among females. Akshat Bhardwaj secured the 1st runner-up position, with Diwakar Kumar coming in as the 2nd runner-up.

In the 25 KM MTB/Hybrid category, Harsh Ravindran clinched the victory among males, and Nisha Minz emerged as the winner among females. Ashish Kujur achieved the 1st runner-up position, while Oxygen secured the 2nd runner-up spot.
