On 12 April 2024, Commander Sue Evans announced that the creators of TROJAN RAT Stalking software (The Firebird Remote Access Trojan) had been arrested in a joint investigation between the AFP and the FBI.

Fifteen Communications suggests SMS messages, emails and other electronic communication have likely been presented as primary evidence in several of the 2,976 arrests conducted whilst the Firebird Remote Access Trojan investigation was on foot. They also suggest that the AFP ort to have been aware of the TROJEN RAT Stalking threat ahead of the first major TROJAN RAT investigation, pushing the number of questionable arrests skyward.  
 
Withholding evidence from the court, such as intimate knowledge of TROJAN RAT Stalking technology, is a crime in Australia.  

Fifteen Communications asserts that it is both unjust and immoral for the AFP to neglect to share their intimate knowledge about the scale and potential impact of TROJAN RAT Stalking software on electronic communications with the court. Fifteen Communications believes it’s the responsibility of all parties to ensure a fair trial. For the AFP to be the only party in the courtroom to hold such important information as to the reliability of evidence is unprecedented.
