The founders of Prom Expo Unlimited kicked off prom season by hosting a unique prom event that attracted a few hundred high school students.

The event took place at Earvin “Magic” Johnson Park & Community Event Center in Los Angeles and was well supported by City Officials and local celebrities.

Following the red carpet, the founders of the expo presented individuals in fashion and entertainment with awards for outstanding achievements in their field during a fashion show. This year’s honorees included “Mover of Mountains Award” – Comedian and Actress Tiffany Haddish’s She Ready Foundation, “Designer of the Year Award” – Fashion Celebrity Stylist Winnie Stackz (styled for Missy Elliott, Saweetie, & more), and “Community Heart Award” – Actress Katelynn Bennett (Lifetime movie “Breaking Girl Code”). Mayor of Compton Emma Sharif and Senior Field Representative Aide Castro of Assemblymember Mike A. Gibson’s office were onsite to present official city certificates to the honorees. Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell was not present to attend but sent city certificates via mail.

Renowned designers StormyWeather Designs, Casonna, Nyzeina Eberhart, and DivineWear unveiled the latest prom designs, trends and styles during the runway fashion show. The designs were stunningly crafted with a blend of timeless fabrics that exude confidence and style for any student attending prom. At the end of the fashion show, the founders announced “A Prom of a Lifetime” winners which included NAI (@_.naiidadon) and That Kid (@thatkidneyo).

To cap the evening, iHeartRadio’s DJ Tye Hollywood who is widely recognized as a prominent DJ, having played a key role in numerous high school festivals hosted a special “Artist Hour” featuring American Idol’s Stefan Benz, singer Jordyn Sugar, and many other artists.
