Here are the details:
In February 2023, Tangela Parker took a two-week bereavement leave to attend the funeral of a lifelong family friend who died unexpectedly. Upon her return, she resigned from her role as Marketing Director to prepare for her new position at a major Fortune 500 company. Media outlets made it appear as if she resigned due to an investigation, which was false. The defamation campaign began during her absence and persisted for weeks without her knowledge. Hartsfield-Jackson’s communications lead supplied several media outlets with information to broadcast defamatory, derogatory, and false narratives, damaging Ms. Parker’s professional standing. She learned of the campaign the day before it aired on television and in print.
Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport launched a defamation campaign, falsely accusing Tangela Parker and Kysha Knox-Scott of financial mismanagement.
Nevertheless, evidence and internal documents revealed that the accusers knew their claims were baseless. The Chief Commercial Officer/Deputy General Manager discussed and approved all marketing expenses. However, airport officials proceeded with the malicious defamation campaign to divert attention from their financial mismanagement, hostile work environment, and improper hiring practices.
Ms. Parker is available immediately to speak with the media.
