Like every year, this year’s Leeds Festival also offered an energetic music experience for the concertgoers. The last day of the festival took place on Sunday and it offered a high-octane amalgamation of rock, rap, and pop music. Starting from the Killers to The 1975 and Central Cee; every artist and musical group made sure that the audience hit the dance floor.

The Killers ended their set with two different renditions of their timeless anthem ‘Mr Brightside’ and made the fans go gaga over the surprising synth reworking. Mass hysteria could be witnessed among the UK music fanatics. There was Central Cee to thrill the rap enthusiasts with his short and sweet version of Dave collab Sprinter. On the other hand, co-headliners The 1975 offered a big out shout-out to the absence of Lewis Capaldi.

Matty Healy, who previously canceled the tours due to the impact of Tourette’s syndrome, finally stepped in and performed their eponymous debut album in full with the band. Marking 10 years on from its release, The 1975 left no chance to utilize this occasion to celebrate the anniversary.

The frontman of the Killers has previously appeared in this UK fest and last time he surprised everyone by appearing with Sir Elton John during his farewell Glastonbury set. Glowing as always, he was looking equally shiny as before and his black suit kind of helped him get rid of the afternoon downpour. However, the rain could not stop the concertgoers from enjoying the show.

Flowers is one of the most seasoned artists from the UK who studied every form of rock and roll from the legends. Starting from Morrissey to Mercury to Bowie, Brandon knows every secret move. With his hand up in the air, Flowers asked the audience “If you came here tonight looking for rock ‘n’ roll you came to the right place,” and declared, “Can I get an amen?” The audiences were also lucky to witness “Dr Ronnie ‘Unstoppable’ Vannucci Jr on drums tonight” Flowers made sure to let rock n roll bloom through his skills and persona.

Being one of the hottest rappers of the night, Central Cee also took over the stage before the sunset and asked the audience “Have we got any UK rap fans?”. After a huge response to his freestyle rap, he said, “This is one of the lit-est shows.” he also said, “I don’t wanna see anyone standing still,”. The rapper further added “I have put work in for years for this and this ain’t no coincidence.” Hip-hop music has grown significantly in the last few years and Leeds Festival made it even clearer while embracing the UK rap scene.

The 1975 took the last night to offer a taste of their decade-long musical journey. With the nostalgic set of old tracks, the fans were quite happy indeed. Healy also said, “Let’s have the biggest cheer of the night so far for Mr Lewis Capaldi, who couldn’t be with us this evening.”

Clearly, the Leeds festival was one of the greatest fests that everyone enjoyed despite of rain.
