Finding a partner or someone to share your life with should be just as simple, right? With all the dating apps out there, the choice should be larger than ever. You just set your parameters, pick the maximum distance, set the optimal age range, and that’s it! Simply swiping on your phone from the comfort of your couch, you can create countless matches and get in touch with as many people as you like. It’s that simple, right?! Well, not really!
Statistics show that just over half of the American population is in fact single (WNYC Studios, 2022) and this number is only increasing as the years go by. Just to give a bit of more perspective, numbers show that in the last century the number of singles has tripled. Paradoxically, the infinite number of choices out there make it even more difficult to find love. We are in the search for the next best thing, and in the rush of it all, we forget to settle.
