Now the lawyer of Sophie Turner has filed a petition stating ‘wrongful detention’. From this, it came to know that Jonas trying to have joint custody of their two daughters. And that is why, he is requesting joint custody.
Willa, the elder of the couple was born in 2020 and their younger daughter was born last year. They haven’t yet announced the name of their younger daughter. Their daughter has citizenship in both countries as their parents are from different countries. That is why the divorce application mentioned that the children would travel to the United States in August where their father will tour.This was a temporary arrangement according to the petition.
Later, they also said that there was an ‘agreed plan’ where both the daughters would return to their ‘home to England’. But now Jonas is not agreeing to the offer anymore and refusing to return their passport. This is creating a huge problem in their divorce along with the daughters’ return to England. On this topic, they have also stated ‘reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup’.
A media spokesperson said ‘The children were born in the US and have spent the vast majority of their lives in the US. They are American citizens’. Joe Jonas has also said that he wishes that Sophie would ‘reconsider her harsh legal position and move forward in a more constructive and private manner…his only concern is the well-being of his children’.
As of now, they haven’t come to any mutual decision. That is why it is still not very clear what will happen to the custody of their daughters. This couple has come to a crucial situation where they are not being able to come to a settlement. Before agreeing to the custody, they will not be able to complete their divorce procedures.
