I take care of the entire patient, not just the medical diagnosis associated with the patient,” she shares. This personalized approach has earned her lasting trust and loyalty throughout her career.
Carol’s dedication to veterans was especially evident during her tenure at a VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Denton, where she found deep purpose in caring for those who have served the nation. Her passion for improving healthcare access and delivery led her to open two successful private practices, where she cultivated strong patient relationships–many of whom, including veterans, continued their care under her guidance.
In 2024, Carol further expanded her impact by launching a wound care company, addressing critical gaps in patient care while demonstrating her entrepreneurial vision and commitment to innovation in healthcare.
Beyond clinical practice, Carol is devoted to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. She serves as a preceptor for nurse practitioner and registered nurse students, sharing her knowledge and fostering excellence in future clinicians. She earned her RN and LPN credentials from Fox Valley Technical School and Bay de Noc Community College and brings extensive experience with VA systems, including CPRS.
Looking ahead, Carol Hedtke remains committed to returning to VA care in Southeast Texas, driven by a profound sense of honor in serving the veteran community.
