The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre’Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) has expanded its global network through two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) signed with the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (NAKVIS) and the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Health Care (ECAQA). These strategic partnerships reinforce QAHE’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation, advancing accreditation standards, and promoting excellence across the global education landscape.

Strengthening Collaboration with NAKVIS

QAHE’s newly formalized partnership with NAKVIS, signed on 9 March 2026, establishes a structured framework for cooperation in accreditation, quality assurance, and professional development. The agreement emphasizes mutual recognition of standards, enabling both organizations to acknowledge each other’s accreditation decisions while maintaining the requirement that institutions must apply separately for accreditation from either body. This clarification ensures transparency and preserves the integrity of each organization’s evaluation processes.

The MOU also outlines joint promotional efforts, allowing QAHE and NAKVIS to support each other’s events and initiatives through their respective communication channels. A key component of the collaboration is the exchange of expertise, including the sharing of consultants, reviewers, and specialists in quality assurance. Both parties have committed to exchanging research, policy updates, publications, and sector insights, fostering a dynamic environment for continuous improvement. QAHE views this partnership as a meaningful step toward enhancing global cooperation and elevating educational quality worldwide.

Strategic Partnership with ECAQA

Just one day prior, on 11 March 2026, QAHE signed another landmark MOU–this time with ECAQA, a leading accreditation body recognized for its specialization in medical, pharmaceutical, nursing, and public health education across the CIS region. ECAQA’s strong international standing is reflected in its listings in the FAIMER DORA Directory, CHEA/CIQG International Directory, and the Asia’Pacific Quality Register, as well as its active membership in ENQA, INQAAHE, APQN, CEENQA, and other global networks. Its compliance with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG 2015), confirmed through external evaluations by ENQA and EQAR, further underscores its credibility.

The MOU between QAHE and ECAQA establishes a comprehensive framework for collaboration across a wide range of initiatives. These include co’organizing workshops, conferences, training programs, roundtables, and research projects, with particular attention to emerging trends such as digital education and innovative learning models. The agreement also encourages mutual participation in events, enabling both organizations to contribute as keynote speakers, panelists, and subject’matter experts.

A major highlight of the partnership is the exchange of best practices and methodological support, allowing both organizations to benefit from each other’s extensive experience in institutional and program accreditation. ECAQA’s use of internationally recognized frameworks–including WFME Standards, ORPHEUS Standards, ESG 2015, and WHO/Europe guidelines–brings additional depth to the collaboration. The MOU also affirms a spirit of mutual recognition, with both parties expressing openness to considering institutions that have undergone evaluation by the other organization. Joint publicity efforts will further enhance visibility while maintaining strict adherence to branding and professional standards.

Advancing Global Quality Assurance

Together, these two MOUs mark a significant milestone in QAHE’s ongoing mission to promote quality, equity, and global cooperation in education. By partnering with NAKVIS and ECAQA–both respected and internationally engaged quality assurance bodies–QAHE continues to expand its global footprint and strengthen its role as a catalyst for educational excellence.

These collaborations are expected to benefit institutions, quality assurance professionals, and learners worldwide by fostering shared expertise, enhancing accreditation systems, and supporting the mobility of educational institutions across borders. QAHE looks forward to productive and impactful partnerships with both NAKVIS and ECAQA in the years ahead.
