The Lakes Show Battle of the Bands is a high-energy celebration of youth talent, school spirit, and community pride. Formerly known as the Florida Bands Jamboree, the event has been rebranded to reflect its continued growth, cultural relevance, and expanding impact across South Florida and beyond.
Bringing together some of South Florida’s most dynamic middle and high school marching bands for an unforgettable showcase of sound, movement, and creativity, the event will also feature a special exhibition performance by Florida Memorial University, one of Florida’s premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This performance will spotlight the excellence, tradition, and collegiate-level artistry that HBCU bands are nationally celebrated for. Attendees can expect precision performances, high-energy crowd engagement, and powerful traditions that continue to make marching band culture a cornerstone of Black excellence, cultural pride, and youth development.
“The decision to change the name and rebrand this event was rooted in growth, clarity, and vision,” said the Palm Beach Lakes High School Band Director Joshua Velez. “As the event has evolved in scope, scale, and impact, it became necessary for the name and visual identity to better reflect its mission, energy, and cultural relevance–but most importantly our school name too. The rebrand represents a forward-looking approach–honoring tradition while positioning the event for further success. This change ensures that the brand aligns with the excellence, innovation, and experience that participants and audiences have come to expect.”
The Palm Beach Lakes High School Ram Regiment Band continues to build national and international recognition. Earlier this month, the Ram Regiment proudly represented South Florida on the global stage, performing in London’s New Year’s Day Parade, further solidifying the program’s reputation for excellence, discipline, and world-class performance.
Whether you’re cheering for your school, supporting young musicians, or simply love the excitement of marching band culture, The Lakes Show Battle of the Bands promises an atmosphere of unity, competition, and unforgettable performances.
