Most of these shows have already gathered much attention from the previous projects, and now, the viewers can’t wait any longer, as they have been waiting for this development for a long time. As we have almost arrived at the last month of the year, let’s find out some exciting releases this winter. Whether you like horror, thriller, or romance, let’s find some exciting releases in December.
- Netflix
A massive amount of excitement and anticipation has developed among the Netflix watchers as the hit series ‘Stranger Things’ is making an epic comeback with its fifth and final season. There is a huge fanbase for Stranger Things, and the child actress Millie Bobby Brown is a full-fledged mom right now. The actors and actresses have grown old, but the anticipation for the show is still quite high. Volume 3 will be dropping on December 31st, and so, you would have to wait for the last date of 2025 to watch the show.
Many other Netflix original series are releasing this December, and some of them are completely new shows. There will be ‘My Secret Santa’, ‘I Wish You Had Told Me’, ‘Sicilia Express’, ‘The New Yorker at 100’, ‘Love and Wine’, ‘Lost in the Spotlight’, ‘The Fakenapping’, etc, many other shows releasing for the first time. On the other hand, there is Emily in Paris with season 5, Home for Christmas with season 3, Had I Not Seen the Sun with part 2, The Believers season 2, and children’s favorite CoComelon Lane with 6 seasons. You can check the full list on Netflix’s original website.
- Amazon Prime Video
Sometimes, Apocalypse can be quite fun too, and the ‘Fallout’ has proven that with its compelling story adapted from an old video game. It is a wildly popular video game franchise, and they have decided to launch the second season of the show, which gained a lot of popularity from the audience. Season 2 will be dropping on December 17, and fans are eagerly waiting for it. After introducing us to the delightful trio of Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul, they will be showing more scary monsters this time. A documentary is also being released in December, named The Merchants of Joy, and the trailer seems interesting. Audiences are also looking forward to another movie release, named Oh. What. Fun.
- HBO MAX
HBO Max is best known for being a Warner Bros.-owned streaming platform that offers compelling works with better storytelling, but the list of new works releasing on the platform is quite limited. This December, HBO is bringing IT: Welcome to Derry, a treat for the bizarre horror lovers. There will also be episodes of I Love LA, as well as Mad Men, coming soon.
- HULU
Hulu is doing some great work, and December might pay off. As of this writing, Hulu also hasn’t released its streaming catalogue for the holiday season 2025, but in the same vein as we were just mentioning, it still has plenty of reasons to subscribe. Remember, it’s the only place you can catch up on Alien: Earth ahead of its just-announced season 2, not to mention where to go if you need more of that sweet, sweet Shōgun drama.
- Paramount +
Are you a TMNT fan? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been released by many creators at different times, but nothing can beat the fast-paced, wild, action-packed series offered by Paramount. It feels especially perfect for a brand-new Turtles chapter to be dropping over the holidays. Season 1 of this show has already created a massive buzz, and now, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, season 2, is ready to make the fans happy again. The platform is also dropping a new series on December 11, which is titled ‘Little Disasters’. The trailer for the show has already gained much attention.
- Disney Plus
Stranger Things hasn’t completely cornered the market when it comes to teens dealing with the supernatural this December. No, Percy Jackson and the Olympians are back to give the Greek mythology lover in all of us a new epic tale of colossi and camaraderie. But if you’re more into modern religions, then they’ve also got the Taylor Swift documentary, End of an Era, on deck.
- Peacock
Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi offered a different taste of martial arts in the MCU. Not only the Marvel fans, but a lot of people wished for this man to show some action other than just in the MCU, and their dreams are finally coming true. Science-fiction espionage thriller The Copenhagen Test will see Liu team up with former Scream final girl Melissa Berrera, and it is going to be a perfect treat for everyone. ‘Here Come the Irish’ will be arriving with its season 2, and another new series is launching, named ‘Made in Korea’.
- Apple TV +
Coming in last but in no way least is Apple TV+, which is lighting up the holidays the nature-doc way with the first season of Born to be Wild. The show follows the development of six baby animals whose species are endangered as they spend time in our world in order to learn how to survive in theirs. Another show named ‘The Hunt’ is also dropping its first season, and there are mixed responses to the show.
It seems like you have a lot to cover in just one season!
