In her new executive role, Edwards will lead the hospital’s nursing operations, with a focus on improving care quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Edwards’ educational achievements form a strong foundation for her clinical and operational leadership. She began her nursing journey by earning an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) from Dutchess Community College in 2005, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY New Paltz in 2011. She later completed her Master’s in Nursing Education at Walden University in 2017 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Leadership and Management from Capella University in 2022.
Before joining St. Barnabas Hospital, Edwards served in several key leadership roles, including Director of Nursing at MidHudson Regional Hospital within the Westchester Medical Health Network. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in driving initiatives focused on staffing optimization, quality improvement, clinical education, and interdisciplinary teamwork. At St. Barnabas, she is tasked with advancing these efforts while cultivating a supportive and accountable nursing culture.
