Samarthguru Siddharth Aulia (born Virendra Kumar Singh, 23rd September 1942, Karma, Bihar) had a distinguished academic and professional career before beginning his spiritual mission.

He studied at Netarhat Residential School and completed M.Sc., AISM, and Ph.D. from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. His career included roles as a lecturer, researcher, and author in Geology, before joining Coal India Ltd., where he rose to the position of General Manager. As an author, his book Koyle Ki Gaveshna earned him the Indira Gandhi Award in 1984 for contributions to geological research.
