Berlin Artist zapoida francis Launches LOVE LANGUAGE: Queer Music Short Film Series on the Five Love Languages

What if Call Me by Your Name and Beyoncé’s Lemonade had a baby? The result might look and sound like LOVE LANGUAGE, a bold, five-episode queer music film written and directed by Berlin-based artist zapoida francis. First episode drops Sept 19.

(Isstories Editorial):- Berlin, Germany Sep 17, 2025 (Issuewire.com) – Each episode is inspired by one of the five love languages, pairing an original electropop track with a cinematic story. The series dives deep into queer identity, young mental health, and the complexities of love and self-expression.

More on Isstories:

“I was really drawn to the idea of the five love languages and how they show up in our lives. I wanted to tell a story that feels real, something many young people could relate to. Being queer and young comes with struggles, but also beauty, and LOVE LANGUAGE is my way of translating that into something both intimate and universal. Writing the songs and the script at the same time made everything more connected: the music explains the story, and the story explains the music,” says the artist.

The film explores queer relationships, gender identity, and the struggles that come with them, giving young queer people stories they can actually see themselves in. It’s about showing a side of life that does not get represented on screen too often, while also opening a window for everyone else to understand these experiences.

Starring Filipino actor Gelo Felipe and Italian-Brazilian actor Elder Dias, LOVE LANGUAGE was brought to life by a diverse team of young independent artists from Berlin’s creative community, weaving together cinematography, urban aesthetics, music, and performance into a singular, collaborative experience.

The first episode, “Words of Affirmation“, premieres on YouTube on September 19, 2025, kicking off a series that will continue with monthly episodes and music releases, culminating in live shows and film screenings throughout the spring and summer of 2026.

zapoida francis is steadily carving out a place in Berlin’s alternative scene, experimenting with music and multimedia. Past works include singles such as lonely Boy (released with an interactive video game) and Indian Tea Party (a sponsored collaboration with apparel brand Alien Cleopatra). His track No Mistake, in collaboration with US producer Sky Deep, has also been featured in the German queer TV series Loving Her (ZDF Neo).

With LOVE LANGUAGE, zapoida makes his most ambitious leap yet, expanding from music into film while staying rooted in his community-driven, experimental ethos. The project is accompanied by a crowdfunding campaign to support promotion, festival submissions, and live events.
