About the Author

Dr. Curtiss Hoffman earned his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1974 with a dissertation partly based on Tarot imagery. A respected archaeologist, anthropologist, musician, and mythologist, he taught for decades at Bridgewater State University, creating courses such as Myth and Culture, The Emergence of Cities, and Culture and Consciousness. His life-long love of music and mythology culminated in this remarkable project, blending scholarship and creativity.

Dr. Hoffman is a past president of the Northeastern Anthropological Association and a long-time member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams, where he serves as chair of the Student Research Awards Committee and general editor of its annual meeting program.
