Today’s Civilizations Could Learn Lessons From Recovery After 1177 B.C. Collapse

(Isstories Editorial):- Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Sep 2, 2025 (Issuewire.com) – The BAS Scholars Series returns online Tuesday, September 9 at 8 pm Eastern with the live presentation of After 1177 B.C.: The Survival of Civilizations by George Washington University renowned scholar, archaeologist, and author Dr. Eric H. Cline

Prof. Cline’s talk stems from his compelling, recently published book on the years after 1177 B.C. when many of the Late Bronze Age civilizations of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean lay in ruins–undone by invasion, revolt, natural disasters, famine, and the demise of international trade.

Those civilizations that failed to adjust disappeared from the world stage. Others transformed themselves, resulting in a new world order that included Israelites, Philistines, and Phoenicians. This recovery period brought world-changing innovations, such as iron usage and alphabet standardization, plus inventions, opportunities, and lessons for today.
