(Isstories Editorial):- Valdez, Alaska Aug 31, 2025 (Issuewire.com) – Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge and Majestic Heli Ski are proud to announce a significant step forward in their commitment to environmental sustainability with the installation of a 43,000-watt (43 kW) solar power generation system. This $250,000 investment, led by owner Njord Rota, positions Majestic as a leader in eco-conscious tourism and adventure operations in Alaska.

The newly installed solar array is expected to drastically reduce the lodge’s dependence on fossil fuels, cutting overall energy consumption from non-renewable sources by more than 90%. In fact, with this system in place, Majestic will become a net energy producer, generating more electricity than it consumes during peak solar months.
“This isn’t just an investment in solar panels — it’s an investment in the future,” said Njord Rota. “As stewards of the land and wilderness, we have a responsibility to protect and preserve the environment we love and rely on. This solar system allows us to dramatically lower our carbon footprint while continuing to provide world-class experiences for our guests.”
The move reflects Majestic’s broader mission to harmonize luxury wilderness travel with environmental stewardship. By harnessing clean, renewable solar energy, the lodge and heli-skiing operation are offsetting thousands of pounds of carbon emissions each year — the equivalent of planting over 1,000 trees annually or eliminating the emissions from tens of thousands of vehicle miles.
Guests can now enjoy their Alaskan wilderness experience knowing that it’s powered by the sun — a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable way to explore one of the most pristine environments on Earth.
