Alexander and Jeremiah first met in middle school, but their bond truly grew in high school, laying the foundation for a shared dream: to serve their neighbors with compassion, integrity, and faith. That dream became Nieves Ministries, a nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting Colorado’s most urgent needs through hands-on outreach, innovative programs, and trusted partnerships.

Alexander and Jeremiah don’t just manage Nieves Ministries from behind a desk–they’re in the field for every aspect of the work. Whether it’s serving meals, organizing events, or ensuring safety through Pinnacle Defense, they lead by example with a commitment to hands-on, faith-driven service.

Their Pinnacle Defense Safety and Security Program is fully licensed through the City and County of Denver, offering local businesses and events professional, nonprofit security solutions. Both founders hold current Denver security guard cards and MED badges, ensuring they meet Colorado’s strictest security industry standards while delivering compassionate, community-focused protection.

Programs with Purpose

Nieves Ministries is committed to building safer, more compassionate communities through a range of impactful programs:

• Pinnacle Defense – Colorado’s 1st Trusted Nonprofit Security Company and currently the only nonprofit-based security provider in the state, offering unarmed asset protection, bodyguard services, and non-lethal safety solutions. Pinnacle Defense is also proud to introduce Colorado’s first membership-based security services, providing affordable, predictable safety plans for businesses, events, HOAs, and property owners. Alexander Nieves brings a strong educational background to his leadership. He holds an Associate Degree in Business Management with a focus in Digital Marketing and is now pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, both from Colorado Technical University. He is also completing an Associate Degree in Divinity through Christian Leaders Institute (College), ensuring the ministry’s foundation remains firmly rooted in faith, integrity, and service.

“Education matters because it equips us to serve better,” says Alexander. “My goal is to use everything I’ve learned to help lead with vision, accountability, and compassion.”

Nieves Ministries was recently honored with a city proclamation recognizing its work feeding the homeless, supporting individuals with disabilities, and strengthening neighborhoods through faith-led initiatives.

“This proclamation isn’t about us–it’s about what’s possible when a community comes together,” says Jeremiah Banks. “We’re just grateful to serve.”
