About the Author
Dr. Nekaiya Jacobs Pratt is a pediatric intensivist at a Chicago Children’s Hospital and the visionary behind the Curly Hair Council. A graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, she currently serves as an assistant program director for pediatric residency training and is a passionate advocate for diversity in medicine. Her work has transformed the hospital experience for children across six states. She lives in Chicago with her husband and their miniature pinscher, Reese–and when she’s not saving lives or writing, she can be found in her shark onesie watching Shark Week or dancing with her mom to I Hope You Dance.
