Dr. Anderson’s medical journey began with a magna cum laude degree in Biochemistry from Benedictine University in 1988. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 1992, followed by a general surgery residency at UICOMP and a thoracic surgery fellowship at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Board-certified in both General and Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Anderson has been instrumental in integrating cutting-edge surgical techniques into clinical practice.
In his new role, Dr. Anderson will oversee surgical education and clinical programs, including serving as the Medical Director for the lung cancer program and Director of Surgical Education at UnityPoint Health Methodist.
