Dr. Young earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency, serving as chief resident, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the same institution. He is board-certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and in adult congenital heart disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
