Since joining CNS Healthcare as an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Registered Nurse in March 2023, Porsha has become an invaluable asset to the team, coordinating comprehensive care for individuals with complex mental health needs. Her role includes collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and case managers, to ensure that each patient receives cohesive and effective treatment.
In her first three months, Porsha demonstrated exceptional leadership by streamlining clinical operations and establishing a partnership with Genoa Pharmacy in Macomb County, significantly enhancing medication accessibility for her clients. Her responsibilities also encompass managing medication storage and administration, including the administration of long-acting injections (LAIs) and the collection of blood samples to monitor drug levels and identify potential health issues.
Porsha’s commitment to holistic care extends beyond clinical tasks; she actively provides essential health and medication education to both clients and staff, embodying her dedication to informed and compassionate care. Porsha’s journey in healthcare began with an Associate of Science in Registered Nursing from Wayne County Community College District in 2021. Currently, she is pursuing her graduate studies at Chamberlain University, where she is on track to earn a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization as a Nurse Practitioner.
