Texas Woman Arrested Over Ownership of Home Amid Alleged Title Fraud Involving Major Insurance and Title Companies

Austin, TX – Jacqueline Harrington has been arrested and charged with theft of property in case D1-DC-24-303411, despite being the legal resident and rightful claimant to the property located in Austin, Texas. The arrest stems from what Harrington describes as a multi-year title fraud and harassment campaign involving Nationwide Insurance, Patrick M. Kemp, Fidelity National Title, and Spartan Title Company, along with multiple surrogate actors who filed parallel litigation under multiple names.

Harrington asserts that the home is the subject of an active title insurance claim and ongoing federal litigation related to Nationwide’s alleged failure to honor its obligations under the Texas Prompt Payment of Claims Act. According to public filings, title instruments 2023054525 and 2023054671, recorded with the Travis County Appraisal District, are allegedly fraudulent and have been used to justify multiple civil and criminal proceedings against Harrington and co-owner Don Grant, including the quiet title action D1-GN-24-002644.

The civil and criminal cases coincide with a payment of $74,000 returned to Spartan Title Company, which Harrington states was intended as satisfaction for a now-disputed lien. Despite that, she claims other actors, under different names, continued to initiate seizure efforts, leading to repeated attempts to remove her and Grant from the property.

A significant judicial intervention came when Judge Maria Cantú Hexsel of Travis County denied an attempted property seizure upon reviewing the conflicting jurisdictional claims and the presence of an open title dispute. However, Harrington alleges that other judges colluded to conceal related case filings, suppress court motions, and permit an online criminal complaint to proceed under an alias, without a sworn affidavit, resulting in the arrest of both property owners.

The arrests occurred while an active title claim remained open, according to Harrington, who has filed multiple motions in state and federal court alleging civil conspiracy, insurance fraud, and constitutional violations.

Disclaimer: Legal records confirm that federal proceedings are ongoing, and Harrington is requesting the public, legal professionals, and government officials to scrutinize the coordination between private insurance firms, title companies, and public officials across jurisdictions.
