Read Across America Week (March 2nd-7th) is in full swing, and
local author Sherrika Myers is bringing the power of storytelling, self-confidence,
and literacy to students across the Lowcountry through her Lil Herbie Series Book
Collection.

“I created the Lil Herbie Series to give children the confidence to use their voice, believe in themselves, and overcome challenges like bullying and self-doubt,” said Sherrika Myers, founder of Every 1 Voice Matters. “Literacy is the foundation of success, and through storytelling, we’re able to inspire the next generation.” This initiative aligns with Read Across America, a national literacy movement that encourages children to embrace reading. With the help of Lil Herbie, community leaders, and local officials, Myers is making learning engaging, interactive, and fun.
