In the book, Sean Stamos, a famous FBI and CIA legal spy, and Natalia Volkov, a world-renowned investigative business journalist, are fresh off saving the world from her Russian family’s plot to destabilize financial markets. The embattled pair embark on separate professional adventures, where Natalia and her partner, Chip, have been occupied sailing around the world, but she has been seeking a change in her career path. In a surprise move, Stamos is about to find himself at the head of a new FBI Division of Domestic Counterintelligence, fighting domestic terrorism. Meanwhile, the same Russian enemies, not easily defeated, are hatching a plot to influence elections – not with misinformation, but in a more direct purge. The three must join forces again in a race against the clock to discover all the players before it’s too late for thousands of Americans.

A renowned and established infectious disease physician in the Tampa Bay area, Laartz has always had a passion for writing fiction. This is his second novel, while his first book was a hard science nonfiction book about preventing and treating contagious diseases.

Dr. Laartz is a physician based in Florida and the United States Virgin Islands with years of experience treating patients in hospitals and clinics around the world. He has founded a non-profit for medical missions and relief to India, the Caribbean, and other areas in need. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, sailing, and scuba diving.
