In 2023, former Mayor Anthony DeFillipo was charged with five counts of election fraud following allegations that he illegally voted in the city where he no longer resided. On the eve of his trial, DeFilipo pled guilty to voting outside the city and violating the City’s charter, bringing the case to a close. The resolution of this case underscores the importance of accountability and adherence to the rule of law.
