More on Isstories:

With his extensive medical training and compassionate approach, Dr. Raoufi offers personalized healthcare solutions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. His commitment to patient well-being extends beyond traditional medical practice, as he prioritizes building trusting relationships and fostering open communication.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Raoufi graduated with his Medical Degree from Iran University of Medical Sciences in 1994. Subsequently, he relocated to the United States, performing his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Henry Ford Hospital from 2006 to 2010, followed by his fellowship in GI and liver pathology at Mt. Sinai in New York in 2010.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology through the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

Gastrointestinal pathology (including liver, gallbladder and pancreas) is a recognized sub-specialty discipline of surgical pathology. Recognition of a sub-specialty is generally related to dedicated fellowship training offered within the subspecialty or, alternatively, to surgical pathologists with a special interest and extensive experience in gastrointestinal pathology. There are approximately 30 gastrointestinal pathology fellowships offered within the United States (predominantly academic, and more recently three “corporate” fellowships). This translates to fewer than 40 fellowship trained gastrointestinal pathologists being trained annually in the United States each year.

Above all, Dr. Raoufi credits his accomplishments to maintaining a clear vision and defined goals, coupled with steadfast commitment, consistency, and discipline.
