A graduate of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Fred’s dedication to excellence has been recognized with the Outstanding Alumni Award in 2006. Post-graduation, his professional journey commenced as a retail banker and commercial lender, before dedicating the next three decades to managing, owning, and operating businesses within the food and beverage sector.
Transitioning to real estate in 2008, Fred joined Callebs Realty and is currently on the path to obtaining his CCIM designation. He holds licenses in both Virginia and Tennessee.
Having been an active member of the Bristol Tennessee Virginia Association of Realtors, Fred served on numerous committees and was the association’s president in 2016. His volunteer work includes being a past member of the Tennessee Realtors Board of Directors and a member of the Commercial Forms Committee.
Currently, he is a member of the Virginia Realtors Public Policy Committee, a past member of the Virginia Realtors Economic Advisory Board, and a member of the 2024 Virginia Realtors Board of Directors.
Attributing his achievements to his insatiable hunger for success and his relentless drive to satisfy that appetite, Fred is always challenging himself to expand his own horizons.
His early lessons from playing basketball taught him the importance of learning, practicing, and applying skills–a mindset he brings to his real estate career. Passionate about serving people, Fred finds immense satisfaction in witnessing the happiness of his clients, which he considers the ultimate reward.
For many years, Fred has been an advocate and promoter of Bristol’s rich musical heritage. He was a co-founder of the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance in 1994, served as their first president and led the initiative to introduce and pass legislation in the United States Congress to designate Bristol as the official “Birthplace of Country Music” in 1998.
Happily married, Fred and his wife, Robin May, have three children – Jesame, Tai, and Seaton.
