Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Chinery earned his medical degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana in 1983. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the St. Agnes Hospital Baltimore in 1992.
An active member of the American Medical Association, the doctor has been recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Among his various accolades, Dr. Chinery has been the recipient of the Flora Krause Casey Public Health Award by Alexandra City Public Health (2003), and Alan Deutsch Award by Inova Alexandria Hospital (2012).
On a more personal note, he attributes his success to good communication with his patients. In his free time, he enjoys photography and travel.
