Canadian Comedian John Hastings receives three yeses on America’s Got Talent with no audience around

Canadian comedian John Hastings brainstormed the judges of America’s Got Talent when he smartly performed to an almost empty theatre.

Ahead of his set, the Toronto born comedian revealed how he was born three months premature, affected by dyspraxia, a neurological disorder that impacts a person’s ability to plan and process motor tasks.

Hastings explained that it’s quite a rare disorder and he was born without reflexes and also eye-hand coordination. He revealed how he had the balance of a baby giraffe as a result of which he was always picked on. He explained an incident when he was 10 years old. John had said a zinger to a bully, to which the entire class broke out laughing, post which he never said it again.

The comedian who has been raised in Ottawa added many have questioned him that whether his current profession is anyhow linked to such instances. Abut, that question is actually for all the psychologists and anyone with ears, who need to figure that out.

The moment Hastings appeared on the stage, Howie Mandel, a judge commented that there is nothing like showing up for America’s biggest talent show on a day when there are no zero audiences around.

To which, Hastings who is 34 replied that the only thing they can do at that moment is to sit and see how things go. He went onto say that he had previously played a gig for two guys and a dog, to which the dog had left, and this is perhaps the weirdest contention gig he has ever done in his life so far.

He continued saying that just the way, Howie Mandel, Sofia from Modern Family, and Simon Cowell are all present and there is no one in the room, the situation is not even making him nervous. All he feels is that he had drugs and is just about to wake up he added.

Furthermore, in his routine, Hastings mocked his age.

The 34-year-old comedian said that he is at an age where it seems that he has been through enough and that 34 is quite a difficult age where a person is not that old but is old enough to understand that the world’s changed.

Hastings said that he is old enough to remember that there was a time when people saw a fellow with a neck tattoo and then imagined to see a dead body. But now people simply see a fellow with a neck tattoo and all that they think is a latte who is going to be amazing.

By the time when Hastings was over with his routine, he collected three yeses from the judges.

He went ahead to thank Mandel who applauded him with a standing ovation along with three people and a crew that just wanted to go home.

Judge Simon Cowell said that it was like reading the vibe of the room.

After Hastings had received his three yeses, it was Global News who spoke to him about his audition and moved onto the next round of America’s Got Talent.

While sharing his experience of the audition with Global News, Hastings said that it was just crazy and nerve-wracking at the same time. But also it was super and also ridiculous that it felt he was hallucinating. Overall it was an amazing relief to get done with it.

Being the comedian he is, Hastings added that the show was taped as Los Angeles was shutting down so altogether he had thirty seconds to celebrate and then had to rush back home praying that he did not get COVID.

Hastings shared on how he did not realize the whole thing until the episode was aired on Tuesday, which came like a great wave of relief to him.

Comedian Garey Busey went ahead to congratulate Hastings by saying a great job on Twitter.

Followed by Canadian comedian Tom Green who asked his followers to go and check out Ottawa’s John Hastings and concluded his message by writing Go John Go.

The next tweet came from the AGT host who tweeted that @thejohnhastings was amazing on the stage of AGT and that the comedian was on fire even without any audience.

Mandel tweeted to @thejohnhastings that he was hilarious and ended with a well-done note.

As per the latest reports, Hastings is all set to reappear later this season on America’s Got Talent.
