(Isstories Editorial):- Dallas, Aug 22, 2018 (Issuewire.com) – As the US faces a national shortage of licensed plumbers, Globus has launched the first registered plumber apprenticeship program for its employees, with expansion plans to offer the program to aspiring licensed plumbers throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. Im proud to launch this program at Globus to build the next generation of master plumbers, who will be able to provide their specialized services and expertise to our customers, said Jason Turner, Globus CEO & President. Globus partnered with Winns Continuing Education to utilize the NCCER national certified plumbing curriculum, which is also approved by the US Department of Labor.
This is a long-time dream of mine to develop an accredited plumber training program within the workplace. Additionally, it will shorten the time to become a licensed plumber by six months and a master plumber by three years, explains David Hoskins Sr., Third Generation Master Plumber and Globus Senior Vice-President of Operations.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts an estimated 16% increase in employment of plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters through 2026, a much higher increase than the average for all occupations, with a 2017 Median pay of $52,590. The US is facing a dramatic skills gap as millions of construction jobs go unfilled. Texas plumbers can do better! said Matthew Winn, CEO of Tyler, Texas-based Winns Continuing Education. Winn has partnered with seven companies within Texas to offer this fast-track plumbing education program; Globus is the only company located within the DFW area.
